BMW Z-8
Munich, Germany

Created for BMW, the launch campaign for the BMW Z8 drew inspiration from the elegance and optimism of the legendary 1956 BMW 507, reimagined through the atmosphere of mid-century Jamaica. Photographed around the lush coastline of Port Antonio and the faded grandeur of the historic Folly Estate, the campaign balanced luxury, nostalgia, and cinematic storytelling to introduce one of BMW’s most iconic modern vehicles.
To support the international release, Colorola created a series of custom vintage-inspired illustrations referencing the travel posters, resort graphics, and advertising art of the 1950s Caribbean. Developed for catalogs, retail displays, promotional materials, and point-of-sale applications, the illustrations extended the visual world of the campaign beyond photography alone, helping to establish a rich narrative around the vehicle and its connection to glamour, escape, and classic grand touring culture. The work combined hand-crafted illustration techniques with a carefully aged palette and typography, capturing the mood of a more romantic era while supporting the launch of a thoroughly contemporary automobile.
