Colorola is a creative agency with studios in Downtown Los Angeles. We work on a daily basis with our creative partners at Pichiglas in Barcelona, offering an extensive suite of capabilities and creative solutions for an expanding international clientele. Because we are big on being boutique, we’re able to fully immerse ourselves in each brand project and, unlike many larger agencies, offer our patrons individualized, coordinated services at an affordable price. Experience has taught us that a successful visual identity encompasses much more than a logo, and that it’s the details, the research, the originality, the quality-nonpareil of the communicative constituents that most thoroughly reveal the core values of a quality brand, and resonate in the market.
Design
Though much of our work is noticeably illustration-based, our passion is design. We believe that design, as a discipline, entails bold vision, originality, research, and a regard for detail. Illustration
Colorola was established in Barcelona, in the innocuous year of 2000, by illustrator/graphic designer, Stuart Patterson. At the time, Stuart was represented by one of the top agencies in the world, Art Dept. He is well known for his pop style illustration work, with highly visible clients like Wallpaper*, Blufly.com, and Naked Music. Stuart still spends a great deal of time illustrating, but now exclusively for clients of Colorola.
Interactive Design
We’ll admit it, Colorola is a bit print-centric. But whether it’s user interface design or flash animation for onscreen sushi menus, our design skills are deftly converted to the digital by our agile informational collaborators, combining unique style with intuitive front-end and back-end programming and web design.
Art Direction
Often, a company requires more than a single logo design or a branding program, and is looking for more of an LTR. We’ve committed ourselves to several outstanding projects, predominantly entertainment venues or music labels, determining all visual components, and ensuring that the overall visual appearance communicates effectively to the target audience.
Copywriting
Spirited conversation is a valued commodity at Colorola, and quite often the lively discourse leads to inspired progress. Though we’re visual by trade, we also, in all modesty, have a way with words. We believe that good design is best served with equally smart copy. After all, attractive typography is seldom effective without the accommodation of equally good-looking copy.
Interiors
Alofonso de la Fuente Rey is our man in Spain. His interior work, noted for exceptional use of color and sustainable materials, is the perfect spacial complement to Colorola’s design sensibilty. Having collaborated on several projects with Colorola, Alfonso’s Pichiglas studio is an integral part of our creative aim, and provides an exclusive combined service for our clients that wish to develop commercial interiors, trade exhibitions, or public installations.
